Route details
This 48-km long trip runs on a paved surface, with an elevation difference of more than 550 meters, most of which needs to be completed in the second half of the round tour.
This is a distance that nearly anyone can complete on a road bike, but in case of exhaustion, you may as well skip or go around the last - the most difficult - leg of the tour. You can complete this tour in both directions.

Recommended route: Cserszegtomaj-Karmacs-Vidornyaszőlős-Kisgörbő-Nagygörbő-Döbröce-Sümegcsehi-Bazsi-Zalaszántó-Rezi-Cserszegtomaj.

Download gpx or use the BB365 app for navigation, or use the road signs along the following BalatonBike365 route: We travel approximately 20 kilometers from Karmacs along the sign 13. After Sümeg, we take a sharp right turn back towards Balaton, go along the 1135 green’ sign southwards until Rezi. Take caution here because from here we take the paved road to Cserszegtomaj and do not follow the BB365 sign.
Nourishments can be bought in villages on the way along the route.
Recommended bike: road/gravel bike

Difficulty factors
After turning onto the main road towards Karmacs, be careful of road traffic approximately until Vidornyaszőlős, this is a really dangerous segment of the tour from where we turn onto the main road until the Zalaszántó junction, but road traffic is quite fast even afterwards. After Kisgörbő, traffic diminishes but then, in the Sümeg-Szántó section, we must beware of traffic again.
It is a difficulty factor that the steepest climb awaits near Rezi at the end of the round tour.
If we reverse the direction, the most difficult segments will come first ✍

A brief description
This nearly 50-kilometer road tour is based on the BalatonBIKE365 Fest road bike performance tour which we connected in Cserszegtomaj. We reversed the direction of the tour to keep it exciting for those who participated in the event in 2022. The rolling hills of Zala attract us with more and more high-quality paved roads...

Detailed description of the tour
The BalatonBike365 Fest tour started in Keszthely and ended in Rezi, now we have turned it into a round trip, and it starts and also finishes at the Mayor’s Office in Cserszegtomaj. After a few bends we turn right onto the main road within the village towards Karmacs and before us is a stretch of flat, high-quality paved road. This, of course, is an invitation for vehicle drivers to go faster, therefore we must ride with caution until the Zalaszántó junction. This segment is dangerous! At the junction, we go straight on towards Karmacs, there is less traffic from here on, and as we reach Kisgörbő, we turn right and cycle onwards almost undisturbed. The flat landscape then turns into low hills and there are brief climbs at Nagygöbrő, Döbröce and Sümegcsehi, too. After Sümegcsehi, the GPS will not lead us into the town, we take a right turn a few kilometers before Sümeg and ride on an excellent paved road for quite a long time. After Bazsi, we go up a brief slope and are rewarded with a 10-kilometer slight descent from there on and can work those higher gears, too. Those who take this tour on a gravel bike can go up to the Béke Stupa at Zalaszántó, the route is signposted all the way. Those who are content to settle for the ascent leading up to Rezi will not have to wait long, we turn left, off the main road, 5 kilometers after Szántó. There is a 2-kilometer upwards stretch until Rezi, and then, in the village - if we are to take the designated round trip - we must be careful because we will not follow the bike signs but take a left turn in the village center and a right at the roundabout and roll on until the edge of the town on the downwards slope towards Keszthely.
We may take the bike sign BB365 135, but this is a little steep on a road bike and the slope is a little twisty at times, so we may not want something like that at the end of our tour. Of course, we may start the round tour at Keszthely or Hévíz too, in this case we will join in the tour at the corresponding location.
