Everyone who has ever been to Balatonfüred must have visited the Tagore promenade. It is a very pleasant place to watch Lake Balaton, to eat and drink at a festival, to take a stroll or ride a bicycle. The pleasant atmosphere is also due to the majestic trees: in 1926, the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore, who was recovering in the local hospital for cardiology, started the tradition of planting trees here, followed later by many other celebrities.
