Built in the late 19th century, the oldest spa town chapel on the south coast is located in a fabulous grove within a former Celtic hillfort on the inner side of a rampart. Although originally small in size, it was expanded due to the increasing popularity of Balatonföldvár and a growing congregation, and its significance was only slightly diminished after 1942 when the new, larger church of Balatonföldvár was inaugurated.
